NCO are pleased to present its Under 12 Orchestra for their 2024 public concert!
At just 11 and 12 years old, the young musicians of National Children’s Orchestras’ Under 12 Orchestra are some of the UK’s most impressive young musicians, and their creativity, skill, determination and musicality is awe-inspiring.
This concert is the culmination of Under 12 Orchestra’s final residential of 2024, following their week-long summer residential of rehearsals, artist workshops, creative work and wellbeing sessions.
Conducted by Caroline Hobbs Smith, NCO’s Under 12 Orchestra will perform their Spellbound programme:
- Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain
- Sergei Prokofiev’s ‘Introduction’ and ‘Waltz’ from Cinderella Suite no.1
- Engelbert Humperdink’s ‘Dream Pantomime’ from Hansel and Gretel
- Camile Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre
- Pinra Toporak’s Captain Marvel (Arranged by Tormod Tvete Vik)
- Alan Menken’s Beauty and the Beast Overture
- Joe Hisaishi’s Princess Monoke and Kiki’s Delivery Service
- Klaus Badelt’s Pirates of the Carribbean (arranged by Ricketts)
