Outreach Charity

Here at NCO we are always looking for new ways to support our young musicians, to help them to develop their orchestral playing and get the most from their experience.

On Sunday 12 March, NCO hosted its first Associate Members Workshop at the Royal Northern College of Music. The workshop took place before the Northerlies Regional Orchestra rehearsal at RNCM which provided an exciting backdrop for the participants.

Led by NCO music tutor, Jo Bradley, the workshop explored the skills required to play in an orchestra through body percussion. It was a fantastic opportunity for the Associate Members to get to know each other and to feel like part of the NCO family. The workshop was a great success, and we look forward to holding many more such inspiring and fun events.

NCO Participation and Outreach Manager, Mairi Coyle, said: “It was lovely to see so many of our Associate Members participating in the workshop. We had about 20 young musicians in attendance, and they threw themselves into the musical activities with real enthusiasm. We look forward to hosting more of these Associate Members Workshops around the country.”
