Next week is going to be very special…we are delighted to announce that we will be all over your airwaves! Listen out for NCO on Classic FM (100 - 102 FM) from Monday 27 June 2016!

Young Brilliance Week on Classic FM will see the UK’s favourite classical music station dedicate time each day to introduce new audiences to NCO, whilst also celebrating our work, highlights and alumni on air and online throughout the week commencing 27 June.

This exciting collaboration is a first for NCO and Classic FM. It coincides with the launch of our new website and the opening of audition applications for a place in one of the 2017 orchestras, so we certainly have lots to shout about!

International conductor and NCO Chairman Dr Peter Stark said: “We are thrilled that our friends at Classic FM have recognised the absolutely vital role the NCO plays in nurturing the nation’s best young orchestral musicians. The significant coverage during this week will provide a real boost for our work and the brilliance of our players (and tutors) and we look forward to NCO orchestras moving centre stage with thousands of new fans who are sure to be astounded by the exceptional talent on display.”

As well as fun NCO facts and information there will be an interview broadcast each day with major classical stars and NCO alumni. Each classical celebrity is interviewed by an NCO member who plays the same instrument.

There will also be a 2-hour ‘NCO - The Full Works’ special with Jane Jones on Wednesday 29 June featuring exclusive extracts from an NCO concert recorded at the Anvil, Basingstoke in April.

Aside from the on-air content, we will be publishing videos, photographs and posing questions to our Facebook and Twitter pages. Please join in the conversation and use the hashtag #youngbrilliance.

You know just how brilliant our young musicians are and we’re so excited for even more people to experience the magic of NCO with our Young Brilliance Week on Classic FM! Please let your friends, family and colleagues know to tune into Classic FM and listen out for NCO features all next week!
