All you need is talent! NCO has always been open to all young musicians with ability and potential, whatever their background or circumstances, and it is possible to have all or part of your fees paid for you. We offer financial assistance and bursaries so any young musician offered a place can join NCO.

The bursary underlines NCO's understanding of the support that some young musicians require and shows that NCO recognises and values the efforts and financial commitments that families put towards these talented children. Thank you so much.

Bursaries are awarded on a sliding scale based on gross household income. Once your child has been offered a place, we will provide you with all the information you need on how to apply. Applications for financial assistance are reviewed by an expert panel, who also make the awards – this process is independent of NCO and designed to be scrupulously fair.

The financial assistance NCO can offer is based on your family's gross household income and operates on a sliding scale.  For household income of less than £28,000 a year, all fees are paid.  For household income totalling less than £58,000 per year, a portion of fees will be paid.  You may also be entitled for help with the costs of travelling to the residential courses, overnight accommodation if you live at a distance, concert ticket costs and regional orchestra fees.

When your child is offered a place we will send you the form you need to complete and an explanation of what supporting material is required.
