Springing into a Concert Hall near you

17 February 2012

Stunning music, supremely talented young musicians and a superstar soloist – just some of the things to look forward to as the NCO gets set for its Spring Concert season.

Our skilled youngsters are to present three very special concerts this Spring.

Main Orchestra will kick off proceedings with a highly anticipated return to Cadogan Hall, London on Friday 13 April.

We’re thrilled that the Orchestra will be joined by world-renowned cellist, Julian Lloyd Webber, who is sure to captivate the audience with performances of Fauré’s Élégie and Bridge’s Scherzetto.

Main Orchestra violist, Noah, aged 12 says “I am so excited about joining the Main Orchestra and playing with Julian Lloyd Webber. I have been listening to ‘Symphonie Fantastique’ and can't wait to play the famous movement, ‘March to the Scaffold’. I want all my friends to come and listen because it is going to be amazing!

The fun doesn’t end there for our flagship orchestra – the children are back on stage the following night, Saturday 14 April, this time at the fantastic Town Hall Birmingham. The young musicians are set to conclude their duo of concerts in style, as they play an impressive range of music sure to wow, from Fauré’s beautiful Pavane to Patterson’s modern piece, Jubilee Dances.

Last but not least, our fabulous Under 13 Orchestra will be performing at the Anvil, Basingstoke on Sunday 15 April. For many of these talented players this will be their first time on stage in a major music venue, but by the amazing sound sure to be produced, you would think they were seasoned professionals.

Popular classics like Rossini’s Overture to William Tell and the unmistakable Raiders of the lost Ark will have audiences humming along all afternoon.

Plenty more information, such as times, how to book tickets and full repertoire can be found by clicking on the relevant link – just choose: Cadogan Hall, Town Hall Birmingham or The Anvil, Basingstoke.
